Cricketers’ Arms, John Street, Sheffield

I took a walk with my camera down to Bramall Lane in Sheffield. Thought I would look at getting a pic of one of the famous pubs which would be well known to supporters of Sheffield United.

I decided on The Cricketers’ Arms on John Street; a pub which I have personally visited on a few occasions. I have to say that I never went on match days as you can’t get near the bar!

It was a dull day so quite a challenge to get a “bright” picture. However I took the picture knowing that I was going to hand draw and colour the image so a great exposure was unnecessary.

Hope you like the end result.

Experimentation with the Distorted Perspective Drawing Technique

Just trying out the distorted perspective drawing technique.

Brothers Arms Pub Distorted Perspective
Brothers Arms Pub Distorted Perspective

I applied it to the Brothers Arms pub in Heeley, Sheffield. No surprise here, as I spent most of my youth in there 😊

What do you think of the technique? Comments/Suggestions below.

I have also drawn this and the other Heeley pubs in a more traditional manner. These can be seen here.

Launch Day!

Hi, and welcome to my new website.

I created the site not to just showcase my photography and art, but to also share my journey as I develop my skills.

During the next few months I will be concentrating on digital artwork and adding more buildings to my portfolio. The ones I have in mind are;

  1. Bramall Lane (The home of football)
  2. Hillsborough (not that I really want to😊 )
  3. Sheffield Town Hall…………………………..Then moving to Manchester…….
  4. Salford Lads Club
  5. The Star and Garter
  6. Peveril of the Peak
  7. Britons Protection
  8. Deaf Institute

I am always happy to receive suggestions and comments so please feel free to comment below;
